Christmas was great. My parents were here. It was super.
After picking them up from the airport, we headed straight to Pho Van on 82nd for some delicious pho.
Then we went to the Asian grocery so my mom could pick up the necessary items for our Asian Christmas dinner. They sell strange things there. And delicious things. It is amazing how cheap they sell food. My mom made a dinner that cost 4 bucks.
Then we came home and watched some football. I am fairly certain that my tshirt propelled the Lions into the playoffs for the first time in years.
We had a delicious pre-dinner charcuterie plate with foie gras. (don’t hate me). The highlight was a pear/brie/candied pecan appetizer I picked up from Camille Styles. It was amazing!
And headed off to the Armory to see A Christmas Story.
Then we came home and opened gifts!!! In my family, we always open on Christmas Eve.
And I got to see my long-awaited chair. Post to follow.
Finally, we went to dinner at Park Kitchen. It was delicious.
The next morning, we woke up and went to mass. As a Chreaster and bad Catholic, I usually only go to 2 masses a year, Christmas and Easter.
Then we had delicious Asian Christmas brunch.
We had some rousing foosball matches.
Went to Peacock Lane to see some beautiful lights,
Then stopped at Circa 33 for Hot Toddies.
On our way home, I snapped these beauties.
The next morning, we woke up and went to work off some of our calories on the tennis court.
And had more delicious Asian food! My mom has cooked and frozen enough food for us to eat for the week! I don’t think our fridge has ever been this full.
It was an awesome weekend.
And my hipster glasses finally came in!!
Muhahahaha. My quest to become a nerdy hipster is coming to fruition.
