Hello from the universe’s worst blogger.
Lots happened around aquahaus.
Here are snippets:
Master bath is coming along. Tile is installed. I love the marble.
Vanity is in. It’s a custom concrete one. Medicine cabs above. Kohler purist faucets.
Windows have arrived. They get installed next week.
Upstairs bath has new tile.
Study doors are in.
What color for the French doors??
Stain them natural?
Paint them black to match the windows ?
Paint them white?
How was your weekend? Mine was very productive.
We again spent some time in the Party Shack, sizing it up for its future fittings.
Thanks to the suggestion of Hoot, J now is married to the idea of a kegerator.
More on these plans later.
The house is still a mess, but progress is happening.
A ton of stucco work has happened.
We are also seeing more progress in the bathrooms.
Tile starts tomorrow.
How was your weekend? Mine was super. I’m sore and walking like a robot because I did the equivalent of 5000 squats and lunges yesterday.
Lets back up.
I have a backyard. It is an overgrown jungle.
We haven’t done ANY landscaping since moving here. (Obvi)
Those tall thin trees? Those are weeds.
But in this Craptastic yard, we have a little shed. We’d been using it to store our bikes.
We had planned to tear it down. But upon closer inspection, it’s really pretty nice. It has electricity, A/C, and it’s a good size.
We’ve decided to turn it into The Party Shack. A place to watch football, play foosball, and party in an uninhibited fashion, without the fear of ruining my prized mid century Craigslist finds.
There was a plywood subfloor.
We decided to put a little love into it.
But not too much money since we may replace this structure one day.
We went to Lowe’s and found some vinyl peel and stick flooring. It looks like a light wood. Very easy to clean. Easy to install. Cheap. 98 cents a square foot. Can’t beat that.
Here is the during:
And here is the after of the floor.
Much better. Easy to clean. And not too expensive. Using a gift card, we have this floor about $100 bucks later.
We just need to add the TV and beer fridge!
Have a great week!
We had an eventful weekend. We spent most of the weekend in
They have some great vintage stores. We went to Vieux Designs in Richardson. So awesome.
We picked up this coffee table.
It’s going in the newly minted “Competition Room”. This room will house board game matches, etc.
I also picked up these.
I heart them so much. And they are so comfy.
We came back to ATX and checked on the reno progress.
The most progress has been made in the kitchen.
I am stoked about this wall of windows.
Brings sooo much light into the room.
Perhaps it’ll inspire me to spend more time in the kitchen.
Have a great week!
